Timeform pick out three bets from Friday's UK racing...
"However, he proved to be a different proposition on just his second start for the Richard Fahey yard..."
Believe It - Bath 14:30
Believe It made a successful handicap debut at Wolverhampton in December and, having shaped better than the bare result when beaten on his next two outings, he regained the winning thread with a cosy victory at Lingfield in February. He has a 4 lb rise in the weights to contend with on his return from three months off the track, but he remains relatively unexposed compared to most of these and - with the return to turf unlikely to prove a problem - Believe It can make the necessary improvement to follow up here. Knight of The Air was a winner over this C&D in September and can give the selection most to do after performing with credit over an insufficient trip last time.
Masterpaver - Haydock Park 15:40
Masterpaver had shown himself to be a useful performer on the all-weather for Alan Bailey, but arrived at this venue last time without even a placed effort to his name on turf. However, he proved to be a different proposition on just his second start for the Richard Fahey yard (previously third at Chelmsford), finding an extra gear when joined at the head of affairs with three furlongs to run and heavily eased for a two-length victory. This looks a stronger race on paper, but Masterpaver escapes a penalty for that C&D success here and - 6 lb clear of the field on Timeform ratings - a reproduction of that form should be good enough to see him get the better of Nonchalant.
Huntlaw - Haydock Park 17:10
Huntlaw looked desperately in need of the experience when well-beaten on his racecourse debut at Ayr in October and showed the benefit of that initial outing when making a successful return to action at Musselburgh last month. A son of the multiple Group 1-winner Attraction, he displayed the same tenacious attitude that was her trademark when accounting for Amazement last time and has the potential to prove far better than a BHA mark of 76. Indeed, Huntlaw is 5 lb clear of the field on Timeform ratings here and - weighted to uphold recent form with the runner-up - he can register the second victory of his career with a defeat of the similarly unexposed Threat Assessed.
