Timeform pick out three bets from Musselburgh on Friday...
"With no competition for the lead here, however, Joe Fanning may be able to dictate the pace..."
Opt Out - 15:00 Musselburgh
Opt Out won this race last season from a 2 lb lower mark for former trainer Alistair Williams and after an eye-catching reappearance run at Redcar last time (given a hands-and-heels ride by a jockey having her first ride in public) he looks set to run well for new handler David O'Meara, who has of course built up quite a reputation for returning horses to their best in a relatively short space of time. With plenty of pace in the race courtesy of Circuitous and Celtic Artisan, Opt Out should have the race run to suit and may prove hard to beat under Daniel Tudhope.
Vive Ma Fille - 16:00 Musselburgh
Mark Johnston won this in 2013 and 2014 and his best chance of landing a third renewal looks to be the filly Vive Ma Fille who has been running well in some hot races so far this season without managing to add to her sole success, which came in a maiden on her first start. With no competition for the lead here, however, Joe Fanning may be able to dictate the pace, and Vive Ma Fille may take some catching on this sharp track. Gabrial The Hero has been holding his form in some good races including the Northumberland Plate last time (sixth) and could get into the places.
High On Light - 16:30 Musselburgh
A 6 lb penalty should not stop High On Light, who did the job in good style at Thirsk last week over this trip under Rachel Richardson, winning by five lengths and clearly relishing the return to a mile and a half. She is taking on some fairly exposed older horses today, and looks to have a very strong chance of following up. Gabrial The Terror has performed well at this track in the past and could follow the selection home.
