Western Warrior seems to have been found an outstanding opportunity to win at last by trainer Clinton Binda, who has been bringing the Querari gelding along nicely with a third over five furlongs here closely followed by an even better second on the standside track here when beaten less than half a length by Di Mazzio when stepped up to a fraction shy of this distance five days ago. A repeat of that may well be more than enough to see Western Warrior come home in front this morning and he looks to have a great chance of winning his first ever race.
Little Swift has only taken the one race from twelve starts with a maiden win over further here back in July 2016 but looks to be coming to a peak now if we assume her second to Kirkconnel Lass at Vaal last month was no fluke. She has been put up 4 lb for that, but looked an unlucky loser and, if jockey Gavin Lerena is allowed to send her to the front early and try to burn off these rivals over this trip, she can put her added stamina to good use and Little Swift can win this with a bit left up her sleeve for the in-form Gavin van Zyl stable.
It's A True Story is no World beater after five starts without a win and just the two places, but in the absence of Made To Conquer he looks to have an outstanding chance in this field. Dianne Stenger's three-year-old son of A P Answer seems to be going the right way and ran his best race yet at Vaal at the beginning of the month when a three length plus third to Rebel Baron over this trip, despite breathing issues which are hopefully now sorted out. This will be his third race back after a seven-month break so he ought to be at his peak this afternoon and, with little noteworthy form among his rivals, today could be It's A True Story's best chance yet.
