1.45 Gaskells Handicap Hurdle (Grade 3) (1) 3m149y

Analyst's Verdict:
No Hassle Hoff has yet to encounter the hurly-burly of a big-field handicap but his placed efforts in Grade 2 novices suggest an opening mark in the mid-130s could turn out to be generous. No Comment was a big eye-catcher in the Martin Pipe and will be a big threat if his stamina holds, while Barney Dwan was a cracking second in the Pertemps last time.

Timeform Top Rated:
162 22. NO HASSLE HOFF Dan Skelton Harry Skelton
161p 13. NO COMMENT Philip Hobbs Barry Geraghty
160 1. ZARKANDAR Paul Nicholls Stan Sheppard (5)

2.25 Betway Mersey Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1) (1) 2½m

Analyst's Verdict:
A hot renewal of this Grade 1 that can go to Finian's Oscar , who looks a top prospect and can maintain his unbeaten record for Colin Tizzard. Brio Conti and Le Breuil are most exciting also, while Neptune-third Messire des Obeaux sets the standard on that form.

Timeform Top Rated:
165 11. MESSIRE DES OBEAUX Alan King Daryl Jacob
159P 8. FINIAN'S OSCAR Colin Tizzard Robbie Power
157p 4. BRIO CONTI Paul Nicholls Sean Bowen

3.00 Doom Bar Maghull Novices' Chase (Grade 1) (1) 1m7f176y

Analyst's Verdict:
Politologue went well for a long way in the JLT last time and promises to be suited by more of a speed test, so he's chosen to get the better of Charbel, the hard-luck story of the Arkle who may have more improvement in him after just 3 runs over fences. The selection's stablemate San Benedeto is considered too having been highly progressive in handicaps of late.

Timeform Top Rated:
173p 1. CHARBEL Kim Bailey David Bass
169 3. POLITOLOGUE Paul Nicholls Sam Twiston-Davies
168 4. SAN BENEDETO Paul Nicholls Nick Scholfield

3.40 Betway Handicap Chase (Listed) (1) 3m210y

Analyst's Verdict:
Starchitect ran well over hurdles here a year ago and produced his best effort in this sphere when fifth in a competitive handicap at Cheltenham last month. He may have more to offer yet, particularly over this longer trip, and is taken to score. There are plenty of dangers however, with Emerging Force, Potters Legend and Our Kaempfer chief amongst them.

Timeform Top Rated:
161 2. STARCHITECT David Pipe Tom Scudamore
160 5. POTTERS LEGEND Lucy Wadham Leighton Aspell
159 7. SIZING CODELCO Colin Tizzard Robbie

4.20 Ryanair Stayers Liverpool Hurdle (Grade 1) (1) 3m149y

Analyst's Verdict:
Yanworth didn't have the pace to justify favouritism up against the top 2-milers in the Champion Hurdle last time, but he's always left the impression that he's more of a stayer, so there's every chance that this first go at 3m could be the making of him. He's a confident selection to get back on track and account for the tough Cole Harden and Coral Cup winner Supasundae.

Timeform Top Rated:
178 12. YANWORTH Alan King Barry Geraghty
176 5. PTIT ZIG Paul Nicholls Sam Twiston-Davies
175x 10. THE NEW ONE Nigel Twiston-Davies Non Runner

5.15 Randox Health Grand National Handicap Chase (Grade 3) (1) 4¼m74y

Analyst's Verdict:
Definitly Red's position at the head of the betting looks well and truly justified after his beating of last year's runner-up The Last Samuri at Doncaster and he can end the run of big-priced winners with a historic victory. Vieux Lion Rouge has improved plenty since his seventh 12 months ago and can go well, while a strong Irish challenge is headed by Ucello Conti and Pleasant Company.

Timeform Top Rated:
183 17. DEFINITLY RED Brian Ellison Danny Cook
180 16. VIEUX LION ROUGE David Pipe Tom Scudamore
179 10. BLAKLION Nigel Twiston-Davies Noel Fehily

6.15 Pinsent Masons Handicap Hurdle (Conditional Jockeys' And Amateur Riders') (2) 2m103y

Analyst's Verdict:
So Celebre is well and truly on the progressive path, impressing with his jumping when winning at Ascot last week, and a strongly-run 2m will suit him down to the ground, so he could be worth chancing pitched in against his elders under a penalty. Admittedly, this is very competitive, with Chesterfield, Darebin and the improving Highland Fling all making the shortlist.

Timeform Top Rated:
155 11. JOHN CONSTABLE Evan Williams Conor Ring (3)
154p 16. SO CELEBRE Ian Williams David Noonan
153 3. REMILUC Chris Gordon Harry Reed (7)
