Timeform pick out three bets at Dundalk on Wednesday.
Paved With Gold - 18:30 Dundalk
Though there aren't a host of obvious front-runners, this handicap has enough prominent racers in it to ensure it isn't run at a crawl and that will aid the chance of Paved With Gold. Despite being sent off at 33/1 over C&D last time, John Joseph Murphy's charge, making his all-weather debut after six months off, returned to form from out of the blue. He had to weave way through but won cosily in the end under a hands-and-heels ride, and, given his low mileage, should remain competitive at the very least.
Thomas O'Malley - 19:00 Dundalk
Despite being bred for further (half-brother to 13.2f winner Anadara out of a 1¼m winner), Thomas O'Malley got back on track when three-quarters of a length third to Burning Brightly in a nursery over C&D last time, nearest at the finish. He wore first-time cheekpieces there and the hope is that he will show similarly improved form for the first-time blinkers he wears this evening. Slaney Street looks his biggest danger in what appears to be a fairly weak maiden.
Heavy Weight - 21:00 Dundalk
Heavy Weight is well clear on Timeform weight-adjusted ratings here and he can take advantage of a falling handicap mark. Jim Bolger's charge returned from 10 months off with a mid-field finish at Naas in October but should come on for that run and he has three course wins to his name, including one over this C&D. He is now 12 lb below his highest winning mark and, though he has clearly been hard to train it is interesting that connections are persevering with him. Song of Love and Serefeli look his biggest dangers.
