Timeform's Irish Team highlights three selections for this afternoon's national hunt meeting at Gowran Park...
"Those efforts set a decent standard in the 16:40 and, with the step up in trip likely to suit, Urano looks worth supporting to belatedly break his duck in this sphere..."
Midnight Oil has developed into a useful novice hurdler this term, winning a large field maiden in January prior to showing much improved form when chasing home Art of Logistics in a minor event at Fairyhouse last time. The quicker conditions he encounters this afternoon will suit (his best Flat effort came on good to firm going) and there is every chance he still has more to offer over hurdles.
Urano won all three of his starts in bumpers in France, but he has found one too good on all three of his outings over hurdles for Willie Mullins in Ireland. He was not at his best when beaten by Legal Exit at Leopardstown last time, but had previously chased home useful performers in Ally Cascade and Ned Buntline. Those efforts set a decent standard in the 16:40 and, with the step up in trip likely to suit, Urano looks worth supporting to belatedly break his duck in this sphere.
Gold Bullet showed fairly useful form in bumpers for Michael O'Hare and he has taken well to hurdling for his current yard, finishing second to Mullaghanoe River in a fair maiden at Navan prior to easily landing the odds in a weak affair at Limerick last month. He now makes the transition into handicaps and, while it could be argued that the handicapper has taken little chances in regards to his current mark, he looks sure to be suited by this sort of test and remains open to progress.
