Timeform bring you three bets from Clonmel on Thursday.
"He finished second on his handicap chase debut last time at Gowran Park, but he could yet have more to offer based on his other form under rules..."
Bleu Berry - Clonmel 16:10
Bleu Berry was sent off as second-favourite behind subsequent Champion Bumper winner Ballyandy on debut for Willie Mullins in a listed bumper at Newbury in February, and although he was well held on the day, he is worth another chance to confirm his French promise for his powerful new connections, with Ruby Walsh taking over in the saddle here for his hurdling debut. Gigginstown's Alamein could be the biggest danger, though he is yet to win in five attempts in maidens.
Bright New Dawn - Clonmel 18:20
Bright New Dawn didn't give his running when sent off at 16/1 for the Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival on his last start, but this is far less competitive and he is taken to get back to winning ways in this smaller field with a hood refitted, with his win over C&D in February setting the standard in this race. Ruby Walsh takes over from a claimer on The Job Is Right, and he may be the selection's biggest danger.
Mtada Supreme - Clonmel 18:50
Mtada Supreme is lightly raced for an 11-year-old, and has only actually had one start in handicap chases under rules, with eight of his nine other starts under rules being in either hunter chases or over cross country fences. He finished second on his handicap chase debut last time at Gowran Park, but he could yet have more to offer based on his other form under rules, and looks worth a bet here in a race containing plenty of exposed rivals.
