Timeform pick out three bets from Gowran on Thursday.
Backinthesaddle - Gowran 13:20
Backinthesaddle has improved since switched to handicaps and can make it two wins from his last three starts. Benjamin Arthey's gelding may be nine, but he's still unexposed after just seven starts and made a winning handicap debut in a 20-runner event at Down Royal on St. Stephen's Day. Backinthesaddle finished a creditable four lengths third of 16 to Yaha Fizz in a similar race at Naas last time, and, with that form working out well, he's taken to defy a 1 lb higher mark from recent Tramore one-two, Peculiar Genius and Ardera Cross.
Futuramic - Gowran 14:25
Futuramic hasn't won for a while, but he's spent most of the last 18 months over fences and was a fine second back over hurdles at Navan when last seen in November and remains with handicapping scope in this sphere based on what he's been capable of over fences. Andrew Lynch's 10-year-old has an ITC hurdles mark 10 lb lower than his chase one, and the drop back to two and a half miles shouldn't inconvenience him the way he travelled through his last race.
Prince of Scars - Gowran 15:00
This Theyestes Handicap Chase could be another crucial event in the race to be crowned champion jumps trainer in Ireland as there's €100,000 up for grabs, and Gordon Elliott has seven runners compared to Willie Mullins' one. With Jack Kennedy booked, Prince of Scars could be the pick of the septet, and while he has yet to hit the heights he achieved over hurdles in this sphere, the switch to handicaps/return to softer ground are factors expected to see him in a much better light. He gets the nod to prove himself on a good mark.
