Timeform pick out their three best bets from Clonmel on Thursday.
Monalee - 14:25 Clonmel
Monalee and Turcagua have both been beaten by Death Duty recently, though the former was beaten just three and a half lengths (the latter nine), so he makes most appeal on what is just his third start over hurdles for his red-hot yard. Battleford was a smart bumper horse last season (second in bumpers at the Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals) but has made a rather underwhelming start to his hurdling career.
Clarcam - 15:35 Clonmel
Clarcam hasn't won over fences since last summer, but has been set some stiff tasks in the meantime, running in Graded or listed events or being forced to carry big weights in some hot handicaps. This looks a much easier race for him, and a reproduction of his second in the Clonmel Oil Chase from earlier this season (over C&D) would see him very hard to beat. Val de Ferbet was a Grade 2 winner during his novice career and looks the main threat, but Clarcam should have too much class for him.
Samanntom - 16:10 Clonmel
This is represents an easier task for Samanntom compared to the 0-130 he ran in at Leopardstown last time (now significantly down in grade) and he should be up to taking advantage, especially given that he could get the run of the race out in front (few other obvious leaders in this field). Fluspar and Blackwater Bridge are feared most.
