Timeform pick out three bets from the mixed card at Tipperary on Thursday.
"The fact he didn't make it to the racecourse until the beginning of his four-year-old campaign suggests he hasn't been the most straightforward..."
Doc Sportello - 17:10 Tipperary
Doc Sportello made an encouraging start to his career when fifth behind a pair of subsequent winners at the Curragh last month and remains open to more improvement with that initial experience under his belt. The fact he didn't make it to the racecourse until the beginning of his four-year-old campaign suggests he hasn't been the most straightforward, but there was plenty to like about his finishing effort over six furlongs last time and testing conditions should make this a sufficient stamina test for Doc Sportello to get off the mark. Somebodytoldme sets the standard on form and can give the selection most to do.
Call It Magic - 19:40 Tipperary
A winner of a bumper at Cork 12 months ago, Call It Magic has failed to get his head in front in four subsequent starts over hurdles, but he was beaten by a potentially useful performer when second at Naas last time and looks worth another try at this longer trip. There doesn't look to be anything of that rivals calibre in opposition here (6 lb clear of his rivals on Timeform ratings) and, despite proving expensive to follow in this sphere of late, Call It Magic should be backed to open his account over obstacles in this company. Aimin For Anna could improve over three miles for the first time and is feared most.
Uptake - 20:10 Tipperary
Uptake failed to justify market support when well-beaten at Limerick on his penultimate start, but showed much improved form to register his first win under rules at Fairyhouse earlier this month and should prove tough to beat with the same level of performance. The application of cheekpieces seemed to have a positive effect that day and, while they are not guaranteed to be as effective now the novelty has worn off, Uptake is fancied to defy a 9 lb rise in the weights with another victory here. Highest Benefit has shown enough to suggest he can be competitive on his handicap debut and can follow the selection home.
