Death Duty - 12:45 Navan

An interesting Grade 2 in which Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott go head-to-head once again. Both Death Duty and Invitation Only have some good bumper form to their names and are both exciting hurdling prospects, but the former has the more experience in this sphere, and after his impressive win in the Monksfield' Novices' Hurdle over C&D last time, he gets the narrow vote. Baltazar d'Allier is also an interesting prospect after winning a novice on his first start under rules.

Kings Bandit - 13:20 Navan

Kings Bandit wouldn't be the first horse to be rejuvenated by the switch to Gordon Elliott, and after posting a promising first start for this yard when a close fifth at Cork last time, he should go well with Davy Russell taking over from a 7 lb claimer. This is competitive, however, and both Gurteen and Scoir Mear should provide big threats.

Marchese Marconi - 14:25 Navan

Marchese Marconi is a useful horse over hurdles and ran the race of his life when second in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse in March last season. He has yet to reach the same level as that over fences, but has only had a handful of starts and after an eye-catching outing at Punchestown last time he could go closer today under Barry Geraghty. Not For Burning won at Fairyhouse last time and is a likely player.
