Timeform's SmartPlays have selected three bets from Fairyhouse on Saturday.
"He wasn't unduly punished when it became clear his chance had gone and is well worth another chance..."
Alvisio Ville - 11:40 Fairyhouse
This beginners chase gone to some good horses, including Sir des Champs, Mount Benbulben and Foxrock in recent years, and Grade 1-placed hurdler Alvisio Ville could fall into that bracket as he's very much the type to make a chaser for Willie Mullins. Champagne James is an obvious threat even though he proved expensive to follow last season, including when only seventh in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival.
Minella Foru - 12:40 Fairyhouse
Useful hurdler Minella Foru was impressive when getting off the mark over fences at the fifth time of asking, beating Courtncatcher by a wide margin at Limerick in May, and he looks on a fair mark returned to handicap company on his first start since. He was sixth in the 2014 County Hurdle and won't mind the drop back to seventeen furlongs. The King Of Brega and Carriganog make the most appeal of the remainder.
Diamond King - 14:15 Fairyhouse
Diamond King was well backed to make his first start for the Gordon Elliott yard a winning one at Down Royal in October and would surely have finished much closer than fourth had he not been caught up in the melee leaving the back straight. He wasn't unduly punished when it became clear his chance had gone and is well worth another chance, the type to take off for his new yard this season. Wes Hardin took a big step forward on his handicap debut last time and main prove his biggest danger.
