Timeform pick out three bets from the Curragh's Irish Derby card on Saturday.
"Suvenna took another marked step forward when scoring in comfortable fashion at Lisowel recently..."
Elusive Heights - Curragh 15:35
After making a winning debut in a 14-runner maiden at Naas in April, Elusive Heights improved when chasing home the subsequent Tercentenary Stakes third Long Island Sound in a minor event at Killarney and could be ahead of his mark now handicapping. Ger Lyons' gelding is out of Berg Bahn, who won the Group 3 Brownstown Stakes, so he's bred to be better than a handicapper, and he's again ridden by Colin Keane who rode a winner here yesterday.
Don Vincenzo - Curragh 18:00
This looks an open staying handicap but the vote goes to Don Vincenzo who ran his best race to date on the Flat when winning a Leopardstown maiden recently and looks sure to make his mark now handicapping. Don Vincenzo, who'd already won over hurdles and fences, was stepping up from a mile to 15 furlongs there and relished the emphasis on stamina, so going up another furlong here will surely suit him (he stays 23 furlongs over jumps).
Suvenna - Curragh 19:00
Suvenna took another marked step forward when scoring in comfortable fashion at Lisowel recently, and whilst this demands further progress, she gets the nod given her upwardly mobile profile. Mick Halford's three-year-old has now won her last two starts, scoring in a first-time hood in a maiden at Dundalk before her second success (without headgear), and her yard have continued saddling winners since, including Portage in the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot.
