Timeform Irish SmartPlays: Saturday July 23
Timeform pick out three bets from Gowran Park on Saturday.
"The filly wasn't able to give her full running when finishing fifth at Leopardstown a fortnight ago, having been left with too much to do."
Winter - Gowran Park 14.05
Winter could well have made a winning debut had she not have met trouble in running at Naas in May, and she is fancied to make amends today. The David Wachman trained filly is bred to be well above average, and with one run now under her belt, she can make experience tell here and get off the mark at the second attempt. There are plenty of interesting types in opposition, including the Galileo filly Elizabeth Browning, who is entitled to come on for her last run and represents an in-form yard. She can chase the selection home, ahead of the newcomer Assam.
Uninhibited - Gowran Park 15:15
Uninhibited appears in this feature for the second time in a matter of weeks, after being somewhat unfortunate last time out. The filly wasn't able to give her full running when finishing fifth at Leopardstown a fortnight ago, having been left with too much to do. She has posted fairly useful form in her career so far, and is fancied to make up for her last run today, by getting off the mark at the fifth attempt. Money for the newcomer Close To My Heart would be significant, and she can give the selection the most to think about.
Queen Alphabet - Gowran Park 16.55
With very few of these posting workable form of late, it may pay to stick with Queen Alphabet, who very much seems to have clicked recently. The mare won with something to spare on her last start on the Flat at Ballinrobe last month, before shaping well over hurdles last time out, and she's worth sticking with in her current mood. The well-bred posing is far from the finished article yet, and can provide the biggest test to the in-form Queen Alphabet.
