Timeform's SmartPlays team pick out the best bets from Navan on Monday.
"Mount Masada was ridden for the second time by very promising conditional Jack Kennedy that day, and with the rider in the plate again today, he's worth backing"
Felix Yonger - 12:35 Navan
Felix Yonger landed this race, the Grade 2 Hilly Way Chase, in a driving finish last year and he can win again this afternoon, despite the fact there are five at-least smart chasers in opposition. Having won the Grade 1 Champion Chase at Punchestown last April, Felix Yonger confirmed he retains all of his ability when third of five to Road To Riches in the Clonmel Oil Chase on his return last month, just behind Bright New Dawn (who'd had a couple of runs), so looks the way to go with that under his belt.
Miss Dinamic - 13:10 Navan
Willie Mullins is usually the man to follow in this Grade 3 mares novice chase, but he doesn't have a runner this year, which leaves Ruby Walsh free to ride Miss Dinamic for Gordon Elliott. Walsh was on board Miss Dinamic when she recorded her second chase success in a small-field mares event at Thurles in October, and she's since improved to finish runner-up in a Grade 3 and win a mares handicap (value for more than the winning margin). With the Elliott yard in great heart at present, Miss Dinamic looks the one to beat.
Mount Masada - 13:40 Navan
Mount Masada got off the mark at the fourth time of asking in handicaps when winning in a big field at Fairyhouse (fourth and eighth won next time) a month ago and a subsequent 8 lb rise may underestimate him, especially as the return to further than 2½m looks sure to suit. Mount Masada was ridden for the second time by very promising conditional Jack Kennedy that day, and with the rider in the plate again today, he's worth backing to continue his improvement.
