Timeform Irish SmartPlays: Magic to Rock Dundalk

It's all weather action at Dundalk this evening

Action from the polytrack at Dundalk comes under the scrutiny of Timeform's Irish team.

Rock Magic (19:30) didn't show much ability in two starts last year for her former trainer, but the move to Mick Halford has seen much improved performances on both outings this year over this C&D...

In Salutem (18:00) has twice knocked on the door here already this month, most recently when only failing by a short head to catch Zalty over six furlongs a fortnight ago, and while he doesn't appear particularly progressive, he sets a fair standard and deserves to get off the mark at the fifth time of asking.

Rock Magic (19:30) didn't show much ability in two starts last year for her former trainer, but the move to Mick Halford has seen much improved performances on both outings this year over this C&D, not beaten far in handicap company when last seen. She was well supported that day and a 56-day absence combined with a moderate stall position may not be enough to prevent her from breaking her duck now.

Everything Zain (21:00) has been a model of consistency recently, finishing in the first two in his last eight spins on the Flat and over hurdles. While his sole success in that time came over timber, he remains well treated on the level and has been found a good opportunity to put an end to his maiden status in this sphere.
