Timeform pick out three bets from Down Royal on Friday evening.
"The way Vote of Confidence traveled that day, however, suggests he can reverse that form with race fitness now on his side..."
Call Me PJ - 18:05 Down Royal
Call Me PJ needs to prove he stays this far but he caught the eye over two miles at Kilbeggan last time when meeting trouble on the home turn and getting shuffled back before coming with a late challenge on the run in. That third-placed effort represented a career-best for Call Me PJ and he is worth chancing again here from just 3 lb higher in the weights. A bad error ended Gone Platinum's challenge on his handicap debut last time, but he represents powerful connections and should not be underestimated.
Vote of Confidence - 19:05 Down Royal
The lack of a recent run possibly caught out Vote of Confidence when he was third at Punchestown last time behind the re-opposing Clontarf (second) last time. The way Vote of Confidence traveled that day, however, suggests he can reverse that form with race fitness now on his side and he looks worth siding with to provide the in-form Gordon Elliott with another winner. Of the remainder, the lightly raced Dramatic Event is probably the most interesting.
King Blue - 20:05 Down Royal
King Blue had been a rather frustrating character, having found much less than looked likely on several occasions, but he has been running well under talented claimer Jack Kennedy, who seems to be getting the best out of him with two seconds and a win from his three starts on the horse. King Blue arrives here in good form, which is more than can be said for some of the others in this field, and he looks worth chancing again here.
