Day two of Galway's three day meeting gets underway at 16:05 and Timeform's Irish team put forward another three win selections...
"Progressive in handicap hurdles last term, Down Under scored well at Navan before shaping with plenty of promise in maiden chases subsequently..."
The novice hurdle on the card is an above-average one for the track, though Missunited (17:05) rates as a worthy favourite and is very hard to oppose. A dual-bumper winner, Missunited's hurdling debut win has been well advertised since, leading home two next-time-out winners at Listowel in June. She has since developed into a useful sort on Flat, readily winning a handicap at Clonmel earlier this month, and is expected to transfer that progression over to jumps this evening.
Baily Green's form has taken off this season, completing a hat-trick of wins over fences before successfully reverting to hurdles at Killarney on his latest start. The form of his latest chase success was given a boost when runner-up Gimli's Rock scored at Tramore next time and, despite being forced to concede weight all round, he sets the standard in the novice chase due off at 18:05.
Down Under looked to be being brought along with handicaps in mind over fences last season and, given that the penultimate race on the card doesn't look as competitive as the numbers might suggest, he looks overpriced at 11.010/1. Progressive in handicap hurdles last term, Down Under scored well at Navan before shaping with plenty of promise in maiden chases subsequently. He's one of the most unexposed in the field and should relish the emphasis being on stamina.
