The Timeform Irish team highlight three selections for this evening's meeting at Kilbeggan.
"the all-conquering Willie Mullins yard appears to hold some very good chances of victory at Kilbeggan this evening..."
It is not often that three charges from the same yard will be featured on this particular page. However, the all-conquering Willie Mullins yard appears to hold some very good chances of victory at Kilbeggan this evening, starting with Blazing Tempo in the mares minor hurdle at 17:10. Blazing Tempo is undoubtedly better over fences, as proven by her victory in last year's Galway Plate and her two subsequent victories in graded company, and while she proved a bitter disappointment at Galway on her return, she took a step back in the right direction when placed in a handicap at Killarney last time. Blazing Tempo is a long way clear on Timeform ratings in tonight's race judged on that piece of form and is worth backing even at odds on.
Shakervilz runs in the 18:10, a minor event over hurdles, and is another Mullins runner who has plenty in hand on Timeform figures. A smart performer at his best, Shakervilz produced his best effort for some time when landing a similar contest over C&D in May, and whilst it's fair to say he was allowed his own way in front that day, he did beat a useful sort in Sergeant Guib's and will prove difficult to beat if reproducing that effort this evening.
The final member of our trio is Wrong Way Corrigan, who goes in the closing bumper at 19:40. Although a maiden after four starts in this sphere, Wrong Way Corrigan has been knocking on the door having been placed on no less than three of those occasions. His last run saw him finish second to Vintage Supreme in a 17-runner event at Cork , where he took time to hit full stride having been unsuited by the steady pace, and as long as this does not develop into a sprint, Wrong Way Corrigan looks more than capable of going one better than last time.
