Caspian Prince - 15:55

Smart front-runner Caspian Prince won five times last year and his latest run after a break at Wolverhampton over six furlongs should see him spot on for this and he should be hard to peg back. Hototo was second in this last year off 2 lb higher and is likely to also contend the lead, while the winner that day Ahtoug also re-opposes and though much improved since then, he likely has other Carnival targets ahead of this. Sir Maximilian will sit just behind the pace and is another to consider.

True Story - 17:05

True Story looked a top prospect when landing the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket in April and though he was often frustrating to follow thereafter, also not looking the most straightforward, he's since been gelded and may just turn the corner here in first-time cheekpieces. The Mike De Kock-trained pair look the dangers, notably Sanshaawes who won twice here last season in handicaps before running creditably in pattern company, while Mushreq, who won this 12 months ago, is as consistent as they come and shouldn't be far away.

Music Theory - 18:15

Plenty are in with chances here, though Music Theory put up a career-best effort when second to Prince's Trust on his latest start at Lingfield in October and he has leading claims here in a first-time hood, representing a yard who had a good record with their runners first-time up at the Carnival last year. The step back up to seven furlongs should suit Merhee, a Grade 2 winner back in South Africa, while the unpredictable Tawhid is a danger if in the mood.
