Zalzilah - 15:05 Meydan

Forevertheoptimist is respected from his lowly mark, however Zalzilah impressed when making all over 7f here in December, appreciating the drop in trip having previously raced over 10f and a mile on his previous two starts. Zalzilah has been beaten since at Jebel Ali but was much better than the result on his return to action three weeks ago. Maltese Cat and Centrifugal look the pick of the rest.

War Strike - 16:15 Meydan

Pat Smullen looks a significant jockey booking for the ex-William Haggas-trained War Strike who made an encouraging debut for his new yard three weeks ago. He won over an extended seven furlongs at Ffos Las in July and shaped last time as if this step up in trip will suit perfectly. Rockley is another coming off a good reappearance, while the hat-trick seeking Moosir is another to respect especially if allowed an easy lead.

Fitzgerald - 17:25 Meydan

Doug Watson's Fast Enough and Desert Force are respected, however Fitzgerald looks the one to beat. He made a good start in Dubai last season, winning over 7f at Jebel Ali in February, and made an encouraging return here over 6f two weeks ago; the step back up in trip will suit here. Philosopher and Speedy Move also come off the back of good reappearances so are also feared in what looks a competitive race, while Always Welcome looks the only confirmed front runner and he could dictate to his own advantage.
