Timeform pick out their three best bets for Thurday's racing from Meydan.
Sir Maximilian - 15:40 Meydan
Sir Maximilian has won here over the past 2 Carnivals, including a Group 3 in 2015 and a handicap off 4 lb higher back in February, while he looked back in form when not beaten far over C&D 2 weeks ago. Pat Dobbs now re-takes the ride, having got on well with him last year, and he ought to go close if getting the breaks. The Ex Roger Varian-trained Maljaa looks an obvious candidate having joined a top UAE yard, while Harry Hurricane had a productive campaign last year and could have more to offer as a 5-y-o for a yard who are no strangers to Carnival success.
Giftorm - 17:25 Meydan
Scandinavian-runner Giftorm boasts some strong form round here, notably chasing home subsequent Group winner Cool Cowboy off this mark over 7f last January, and having won twice in Sweden since, including a competitive Group 3 in July, looks set to go well in a race where plenty have it all to prove. The Taj is talented, and though he has had his problems, is notably the choice of Jim Crowley, while Shaishee is also capable of going well given he's a Group 3 winner here before, albeit nearly 2 years ago.
Tannaaf - 18:00 Meydan
Tannaaf clearly goes well fresh, having dead-heated in the Qatar Derby on his return last term before shaping well over 12f here, and though he disappointed twice after, first time out may well prove to be the time to catch him. Whistle Stop can also go well for Mike De Kock, but the unexposed Huge Future looks the clear main danger making his UAE debut for Godolphin and it would be no surprise if he proved a cut above this opposition off his current mark.
