Close To The Edge enjoyed the run of race when fending off a next-time-out winner at Newcastle (6f) in May. Not backed that up, and looks out of her depth in this grade.
Golden Delicious held her form well last year, gaining second win in 7f handicap at Salisbury. Possibly flattered in listed race last time and bit to find on balance.
Haamaat is generally progressive, winning maiden (7f) and 2 handicaps (both 6f) on AW. Even better in defeat when fourth in a listed race at Haydock, though was a tad disappointing next time.
La Fortunata turned in a career-best performance when scoring in conditions event at Newmarket in June, albeit well placed the way things panned out. Well held on debut for this yard since, though.
Pepper Lane was most progressive in 2011, winning 4 times in handicaps, but in no sort of form this time round, and hopes rest on fitting of a hood having a galvanising effect. Entered 3.30 Ripon Saturday.
Perfect Tribute was a listed/Group 3 winner last term but has found life much tougher kept to pattern class since. Will find this task easier, however, and not ruled out.
Sioux Rising is reportedly in foal, and appeared to excel herself when second to Gracia Directa in a 6f Group 3 at York. Respectable fifth at Goodwood next time and one for the shortlist.
Artistic Jewel is a strong traveller who signed off 2-y-o campaign with wins at Salisbury and Newmarket (listed). Just as good when landing Doncaster minor event last time but draw could have been kinder.
Colorful Notion is a maiden juvenile winner who was not disgraced when third over 7f at Meydan in March. Likely to have needed last month's comeback run at Doncaster but others have achieved a lot more.
Lady Gorgeous has been much improved this term, third in listed race at Epsom before finishing sixth to Ishvana in the Jersey Stakes. Ran well at Ascot (behind Mince) last week but 7f probably her optimum trip.
Mince was twice a winner at 2 yrs, and has continued on the up this year, winning 6f handicaps at Newmarket (under Dettori) in May and Ascot last week. Looks well worth another shot at this grade.
Miss Work Of Art was useful at 2 yrs, winning a listed win at York and fourth in Cheveley Park final start. This a rather belated return to action but nicely berthed in stall 3 and no surprise if she goes close
Switcher was a useful juvenile, fourth in Royal Ascot's Albany Stakes and third in Deauville Group 3. Form has been patchy this term, however, and return to this trip may not be the answer.
Ultrasonic can pull hard, but application of a hood helped her settle last time when taking 6f handicap at Newmarket in facile fashion. Up in class now, but entitled to utmost respect.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Mince
2. Ultrasonic
3. Sioux Rising
Timeform View: The 3-y-os hold a strong hand in this, chiefly with Mince and Ultrasonic, the former narrowly preferred. Sioux Rising looks the pick of the older brigade.
