Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when Euxton Lane won at Fontwell. Nick hopes to grab some pre Cheltenham cash with a couple of winners from Wincanton and Newcastle...
"I think he is well worth another chance and is attractively priced at 5.04/1 on the exchange"
15:45 Wincanton - Jurby
Jurby can upset the odds-on favourite in this novices' hurdle.
This gelding was pulled-up behind Michael's Mount at Doncaster last month. He broke a blood vessel during the race and that run is best forgotten. He is best judged on his previous effort when beating Grand Saucy in determined fashion over this course. I think he has more to offer and is reasonably priced at 3.185/40 on the exchange.
Storm Home heads the market at 1.9420/21. He was a convincing winner at Taunton last month and represents the Tizzard stable. He has every right to move forward, but is unproven on the ground.
18:15 Newcastle - Narcos
Narcos is an interesting runner in this novice stakes.
This son of Lethal Force created a favourable impression on debut last August when beating Make Good at Doncaster. He took the lead inside the final furlong and pulled clear to score decisively. He disappointed on his next start in testing conditions and has since been gelded. Trainer Richard Fahey adds blinkers today presumably in an attempt to help him focus. I think he is well worth another chance and is attractively priced at 5.04/1 on the exchange.
Night Castle is the favourite at 2.3611/8 on the exchange. He caught the eye on debut when finishing fifth to Sea Fox at Kempton. Despite showing signs of inexperience, he finished well and was not beaten all that far. Improvement is expected, but looks awfully short in the market.
