Timeform on Kapcorse

12.40 Fuller's Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle (3) 2m69y

Timeform Top Rated:
149p 7. NEW QUAY Dan Skelton Bridget Andrews (3)
148 4. OUR MERLIN Robert Walford Stan Sheppard
145 6. KNIGHT DESTROYER Jonjo O'Neill Jonjo O'Neill Jr. (6)

Analyst's Verdict:
New Quay (on the back of wind surgery) was most impressive when making a winning handicap debut at Ascot last weekend, and all looks set fair for another big run under a penalty. He gets the nod to come out on top, with Capitaine and French Crusader fancied to give the selection most to think about.

1.15 Agetur UK Novices' Hurdle (4) 2m69y

Timeform Top Rated:
128p 16. RESERVE TANK Colin Tizzard Robbie Power

Analyst's Verdict:
Mister Fisher, Garrettstown, Bold Plan and Baddesley Knight all looked good prospects in bumpers last season. The first-named gets a narrow vote but the betting could provide more clues in a race which looks sure to throw up a few future winners.

1.50 KKA-Highpoint Beginners' Chase (3) 2¾m93y

Timeform Top Rated:
No ratings for this race

Analyst's Verdict:
A most interesting beginners' chase with the narrow vote in favour of Lostintranslation. A winner over hurdles here back in December, he signed off last term with a fine second in the Grade 1 Mersey Novices' at Aintree and appeals as the type to do well over fences (very much a chaser on looks). La Bague Au Roi, in receipt of weight all round, and Thomas Campbell rate next best, in that order.

2.25 CSP Mares' Novices' Hurdle (2) 2m69y

Timeform Top Rated:
134p 2. POSH TRISH Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden
133p 3. SULA ISLAND Alan King Wayne Hutchinson
126p 1. OUR DOT'S BABY Jeremy Scott Nick Scholfield

Analyst's Verdict:
Hurdling experience ought to count for plenty at this stage, so the percentage call is to side with Posh Trish. A useful bumper winner, she made a fine start over hurdles when scoring at Chepstow last month and can come out on top with better to come. Sula Island was also impressive on her hurdles bow and is feared, whilst Duhallow Gesture and Lust For Glory may do best of the hurdling newcomers.

2.55 Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (Qualifier) (2) 3m52y

Timeform Top Rated:
158p 14. READY AND ABLE Jonjo O'Neill Jonjo O'Neill Jr. (5)
152+ 2. MOON RACER David Pipe Tom Scudamore
151 13. JERSEY BEAN Oliver Sherwood Leighton Aspell

Analyst's Verdict:
A means to an end for some in this qualifier, but Ready And Able completed the hat-trick at Aintree on recent return from a break (likely to prove strong form), and given he can race from the same mark, his claims are obvious. Jersey Bean isn't really crying out for 3m but he's a definite threat if seeing it out, with Ocean Cove another to consider.

3.30 Dawnus Handicap Chase (Qualifier) (3) 2m3f187y

Timeform Top Rated:
147 3. DE DOLLAR MAN Evan Williams Adam Wedge
145 4. CHEF D'EQUIPE Philip Hobbs Mr David Maxwell (5)
144 13. ZAMPARELLI Dan Skelton Bridget Andrews

Analyst's Verdict:
Kapcorse had lots in hand when making a successful chase debut at Bangor in April and could still be ahead of his mark despite a 12 lb rise. The lightly-raced De Dollar Man appeals as the sort who could go on to even better things this term, while Siruh du Lac is another low-mileage chaser who likely has more to offer. Zamparelli shaped quite well last time and also makes the shortlist.

4.00 British Horse Society Celebrating 70 Years Standard Open National Hunt Flat (5) 2m69y

Timeform Top Rated:
115p 3. DRUNKEN PIRATE Noel Williams Thomas Garner
114p 1. GENIUS Harry Whittington Harry Bannister
104 14. NEARLY PERFECT Neil King Bryony Frost (3)

Analyst's Verdict:
Drunken Pirate caught the eye in the preliminaries and shaped well when sixth starting out at Wincanton in April. Expected to take a big step forward, he could be the answer to what is a well-above average bumper on paper. Genius has to concede 7 lb all round following victory at Southwell but will likely give it a good shot, with Imperial Alcazar perhaps the pick of the newcomers.
