Timeform pick out three bets from Market Rasen and Chelmsford on Thursday...
"So from a handicapping perspective, he is potentially well treated from an opening mark of 87..."
Huntsman Son is a dual winner in points and has shaped with plenty of promise both starts under Rules 17 months apart. He shaped even better than the distance beaten suggests on his return at Uttoxeter last month, running green and his rustiness coming through towards the end. He seems sure to strip fitter for that and he could have been let in lightly ahead of his handicap hurdle debut, so is one to be interested in. Stick To The Plan looks the obvious danger.
The maiden which Bowerman won at Kempton in April has worked out particularly well and the horse who finished second now has a BHA mark of 96. Bowerman beat that rival by three and three quarter lengths, so from a handicapping perspective, he is potentially well treated from an opening mark of 87. It's a little concerning we haven't seen him since, but given both his starts have come on artificial surfaces, connections may well have saved him with an all-weather campaign in mind. Sibilance, who is unbeaten on the all-weather, could prove the biggest danger ahead of Mr Bossy Boots.
This looks weaker than the handicap that Wicker contested last time and she looks the way to go. She showed improved form on her all-weather/handicap debut, showing that her mark is clearly a workable one, and the return to a mile seems sure to suit. Jane Chapple-Hyam has her string in good order at present and Wicker can provide her with another winner, likely at the main expense of Fire Diamond, who is in pursuit of the hat-trick following two wins at Wolverhampton.
