Timeform pick out three bets from Vaal on Thursday.
Missouri - 11:45 Vaal
Missouri ran a long way below market expectations when an eleven length plus fourth of twelve on his Turffontein debut but was as green as grass that day and took an early bump which seemed to unsettle him. Sent off at 4/1 that day, Sean Tarry's son of Judpot is considered a lot better than that and it will be a surprise if Missouri is not in the shake up here, with the step up in trip expected to suit.
Kutamba - 12:20 Vaal
Kutamba is another who finished fourth on her debut, this time over this course and distance and only beaten a length and three quarters at the line. Sent off a totally unfancied 45/1-shot that day, she is sure to have improved for the experience, and with the Leon Erasmus yard in good form of late, Kutamba can do a whole lot better this afternoon.
Groovy News - 14:45 Vaal
Groovy News has been a model of consistency recently with three wins and seven top-four places in his last ten starts on the Flamingo Park sand. Jannie Borman's five-year-old gelding has not seen much help from the handicapper but that hasn't stopped him from running well, and while he is in this sort of form Groovy News is worth chancing off a much lower handicap mark on his return to the turf.
