Nick Shiambouros hopes to end his current stint in the tipping chair with two winners from the fantastic Glorious Goodwood meeting...
"He ran on strongly inside the final furlong, and was gaining on the winner close home"
Extra yardage to suit Sabre
15:00 Goodwood - Sabre
Sabre should appreciate the extra furlong in this high class event.
This colt finished an excellent second to Soldier's Call in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot last month. He ran on strongly inside the final furlong, and was gaining on the winner close home. This was an improved effort, and clearly has more to offer. He represents super value at 6.05/1 on the exchange.
Land Force just heads the market at 5.79/2 on the exchange. He won a Listed race at Tipperary earlier this month, and was not beat far in the Norfolk. I do not think we have seen the best of him and improvement is likely.
Rhododendron to blossom
15:35 Goodwood - Rhododendron
Rhododendron sets the standard in this mouthwatering race.
This beautifully bred filly was a tad disappointing when finishing fifth to Accidental Agent in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot last month. She held every chance two furlongs from home but came under pressure, and was rightly eased when all chance had gone. She beat the boys to win the Lockinge on her previous start, and the form looks rock solid. I think she will go close and is attractively priced at 4.03/1 on the exchange.
Urban Fox rates as the main danger. She put in a much improved effort when upped in trip to win the Pretty Polly in great style earlier this month. She has a bit to find on the book, but comes in to this race in great heart.
