Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when his selection Whatmore won. Nick hopes to end his current stint in the tipping chair with a couple of winners from Chelmsford and Wolverhampton...
"Jane Chapple-Hyam has a nice filly on her hands, and has the form in the book to take this"
14:55 Chelmsford - Amourice
Amourice should go close in this novice stakes.
This filly raced exclusively at HQ last year, and put in a super effort on her final start when finishing second to Dathanna. She fought tooth and nail with the winner, and was only just denied. Jane Chapple-Hyam has a nice filly on her hands, and has the form in the book to take this. At present she is trading at 5.79/2 on the exchange which is more than fair.
Espadrille is the favourite at 2.0621/20 on the exchange. This well related filly opened her account when beating Ruffina at Kempton last November. She made all the running, and won with plenty to spare. Improvement is expected but is priced accordingly.
18:45 Wolverhampton - Grecian Spirit
I am going to take a chance with Grecian Spirit in this interesting maiden. He put in a much improved effort when finishing third to Ispolini at Kempton last November. He ran on strongly inside the final furlong, and finished the race with good energy. I think he has more to offer and could upset the odds-on favourite. At present he is trading at 7.613/2 on the exchange and have backed him at that price.
Martineo is the favourite at 1.794/5. This colt caught the eye on debut when finishing third to Herecomesthesun at Kempton earlier this month. He missed the break, but got the hang on things in the latter stages of the race and was gaining on the winner close home. He is the big improver in the race but represents little value.
