Timeform pick out their three best bets from Vaal on Thursday...

"...could prove tough to beat if reproducing the form he showed when three and a half lengths third to Vardo on his penultimate start"

Timeform on Ice Eater

JACKO BOY - Vaal R1, 09:55 GMT

Recent Turffontein runner-up JACKO BOY is fairly hard to fault and has leading claims. She took a step forward from her first two runs there, and a repeat of that length and a half second to Banana Republic could be enough to land this. Sheru From Peru will seemingly provide most resistance having his first run, while Power Of Place is another who could figure.

TIDAL TUSSLE - Vaal R2, 10:25 GMT

Though a long-standing maiden, TIDAL TUSSLE improved significantly last time when third to Mrs Simpson over C&D and has decent claims if repeating that effort. Sun Up may be playing for a place at best, while Golden Spiral is not out of it where the places are concerned.

ICE EATER - Vaal R3, 10:55 GMT

The Chris Jonker-trained ICE EATER has very good claims on the pick of his form and could prove tough to beat if reproducing the form he showed when three and a half lengths third to Vardo on his penultimate start. Double Winner is a viable alternative making his debut, while Henry James looks best of the rest.
