Timeform pick out three bets from Vaal on Thursday.
"...she is bred to be even better dropped back to six furlongs here..."
Timeform on Fragrant Miss
Tortola - Vaal 12:20
Tortola has her first race here for Ormond Ferraris after leaving Paul Peter, and could well get off to a winning start if the daughter of Tiger Ridge can build again on her excellent third to Tigerlace at Turffontein last time out. She didn't really get the best of runs that day and did well in the circumstances in a race working out ridiculously well, with the winner, second, seventh, and thirteenth all winning next time out and plenty of others placing, suggesting that even a repeat of that run would see Tortola come home in front.
Left Hook - Vaal 12:55
Left Hook did let his supporters down last time out when sent off a red-hot 14/10 chance before finishing a length third to Nightwatchman and Corrido in a blanket finish. Tried again over the same mile trip only switching tracks to Vaal, the Seventh Rock gelding will need to improve if he wants to win here, but this is only his fourth start and there is every reason to expect Left Hook to have even more to offer now.
Fragrant Miss - Vaal 15:15
Fragrant Miss may have only finished seventh here last time out but firstly she was beaten less than four lengths and secondly she had shown plenty of speed before fading over the mile and half a furlong trip. A daughter of Captain Al, she is bred to be even better dropped back to six furlongs here, and if Callan Murray is allowed to set her own pace over this trip, then Fragrant Miss will take an awful lot of catching.
