Nick Shiambouros returns with a NH selection from Wincanton and one from the all-weather meeting at Newcastle...
"The Keith Dalgleish stable is in good form at the moment, and this improving filly looks value at her current price of 5.49/2 on the exchange"
14:35 Wincanton - Storm Home
Storm Home should prove difficult to beat in this novices' hurdle.
This gelding finished second to Smaoineamh Alainn on his Rules debut at Wincanton last month. He refused to settle in the early going, and as a result got a little tired when headed at the final flight. The front two finished clear of the remainder. I think he is open to a fair bit of improvement, and should take care of this field. At present he is trading at 2.3611/8 on the Exchange which is about right.
Canelo is the second choice at 3.3512/5. He finished a respectable second to Polydora at Chepstow last month. Improvement is expected but I think the selection will have his measure.
16:35 Newcastle - Riverside Walk
Riverside Walk is an interesting runner in this novice stakes.
This filly put in a much improved effort when finishing second to the progressive Augenblick over this course earlier this month. She ran on really well in the closing stages, and snatched the runner-up position near the line. The Keith Dalgleish stable is in good form at the moment, and this improving filly looks value at her current price of 5.49/2 on the Exchange.
Lady Al Thumama is the favourite at 3.211/5. She finished fourth to Wild Impala at HQ last month, but was beaten a fair way. She is the main danger to the selection on the book, but has something to prove now. Her price is a little thin in my opinion.
