Nick Shiambouros hopes to end his current stint in the tipping chair with a couple of winners from Huntingdon...
"I think he is open to significant improvement and is fairly priced at 2.982/1 on the exchange"
14:00 Huntingdon - Sir Anthony Browne
Sir Anthony Browne should go very close in this interesting novices' hurdle.
This gelding beat Midnight Maestro on hurdles debut at Wincanton earlier this month. He took the lead two flights from home, and held on to win with something to spare. There was a lot to like about this performance despite him showing signs of inexperience. I think he is open to significant improvement and is fairly priced at 2.982/1 on the exchange.
Glaring could give the selection most to do. This six-year-old won a similar event over this course in December, and was bang in contention when making a terrible mistake in a race won by Elgin on Boxing Day. He is currently trading at 3.8514/5 on the exchange.
16:55 Huntingdon - Gibbes Bay
I am going to take a chance with Gibbes Bay in this maiden hurdle.
Last time out at Hereford he was beaten a long way when finishing sixth to the smart Finian's Oscar. He began to feel the strain three flights from home, and soon beat a hasty retreat. The winner is a deserving favourite for the Neptune at Cheltenham, so clearly he faced an impossible task. I think he will find this company more to his liking and is reasonably priced at 5.85/1 on the exchange.
Royal Village is worth mentioning. He finished a creditable third to Head To The Stars at Leicester in December and is open to further improvement. The Hobbs stable is going well at present which is an added bonus.
