Nick Shiambouros hopes to end his current stint in the tipping chair with two winners from the outstanding York meeting...
"This was her third Group 1 victory by a narrow margin"
Back Laurens in the 15:35 at York
Angel to shine
13:55 York - Angel's Hideaway
Angel's Hideaway looks like the horse to beat in this sprint.
This filly put in a much improved effort when winning the Princess Margaret at Ascot last month. She cruised in to the lead a furlong from home, and pulled clear to win easily. I think this likeable individual is open to further improvement, and is reasonably priced at 3.1511/5 on the exchange.
Fairyland is the obvious danger. She finished ahead of the selection when finishing third in the Albany at Royal Ascot, but needs to step forward to beat her again. The stable is a little out of sorts at present which is a concern.
Another Group 1 for Laurens
15:35 York - Laurens
I am going to side with Laurens in this fascinating contest.
This filly won the French Oaks in determined fashion when beating Musis Amica at Chantilly in June. She was in font two furlongs from and held on to score by a neck. This was her third Group 1 victory by a narrow margin. I think she will be suited by the extra yardage, and is reasonably priced at 4.84/1 on the exchange.
Sea Of Class is the market leader at 2.466/4 on the exchange. She beat Forever Together in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh last month. She ran on strongly in the closing stages, and got up to score near the line. This lightly raced filly has no stamina limitations, and is still open to further improvement. She is the main danger.
