1.50 Smarkets Handicap Hurdle (5) 2½m145y

Timeform Top Rated:
110 6. THE BLUE BOMBER Caroline Fryer Richard Patrick (5)
108 5. PHARE ISLE Ben Case Max Kendrick (5)
107 4. SERGIO Tim Vaughan Richard Johnson

Analyst's Verdict:
This looks extremely trappy so a chance is taken on Lubatic without the benefit of market clues. Neil Mulholland's charge showed ability in novice hurdles during the autumn and rates the type to improve now tackling handicaps. Now Listen Here is of a similar ilk and feared, with Sergio and Phoenix Rock completing the shortlist.

2.20 Smarkets Novices' Hurdle (4) 1m7f171y

Timeform Top Rated:
118 12. DIVA DU MAQUIS Noel Williams Wayne Hutchinson
115 15. BY RAIL Nick Littmoden Jack Quinlan
104 8. STARCROSSED Dan Skelton Harry Skelton

Analyst's Verdict:
World Premier reportedly bled on his hurdles debut at Newbury in December but is worth another chance having looked a good prospect when winning his bumper in April. Aardwolf offered something to work when fourth on his hurdles bow and should improve given his Flat form, while Brecon Hill needs keeping an eye on having shown plenty in bumpers.

2.55 Smarkets Handicap Hurdle (4) (D.I) 1m7f171y

Timeform Top Rated:
128 3. WALSINGHAM GRANGE Pam Sly Kielan Woods
127 1. FREE STONE HILL Dan Skelton Harry Skelton
124+ 2. SIR EGBERT Tom Lacey Tom Scudamore

Analyst's Verdict:
Dyliev looks interesting on her handicap hurdle debut given her fairly useful Flat form and a big effort could be forthcoming. Sir Egbert is a big player if none the worse for his Kempton spill. Walsingham Grange and Marmont both won last time out and can go well again.

3.30 Smarkets Handicap Hurdle (4) (D.II) 1m7f171y

Timeform Top Rated:
127 3. DOITFORTHEVILLAGE Paul Henderson Paddy Brennan
126 7. STONECOLDSOBA Denis Quinn Aidan Coleman
125 9. HEAR THE CHIMES Shaun Harris Jack Quinlan

Analyst's Verdict:
Doitforthevillage has a very tempting hurdles mark and the useful chaser can strike if building on his latest Newbury effort. Alberta, Garde Forestier and the veteran Occasionally Yours all won last time out and will rightfully have their supporters.

4.05 Smarkets Lady Protectress Mares' Chase (Listed) (1) 2m3f189y

Timeform Top Rated:
162 3. RENE'S GIRL Dan Skelton Harry Skelton
160 2. DESERT QUEEN Harry Fry Noel Fehily
160 4. GOT AWAY Oliver Sherwood Leighton Aspell

Analyst's Verdict:
A tight event but Rene's Girl produced a magnificent front-running performance at Doncaster last month so earns the vote. Last year's 1-2 Antartica de Thaix and Desert Queen rate the biggest threats.

4.40 Smarkets John Bigg Oxo Handicap Chase (4) 2m3f189y

Timeform Top Rated:
129p 4. KINCORA FORT Noel Williams Wayne Hutchinson
128 6. WANDRIN STAR Kim Bailey David Bass
127p 7. MUST HAVEA FLUTTER Dan Skelton Harry Skelton

Analyst's Verdict:
Kincora Fort is a likeable type with few miles on the clock for his age and will go on improving. Must Havea Flutter is very much respected under a penalty with further progress likely, while Wandrin Star is clearly thought capable of better.

5.15 Smarkets Maiden Hurdle (5) 2½m145y

Timeform Top Rated:
138p 7. VOIE DANS VOIE Alan King Wayne Hutchinson
123 2. FAWSLEY SPIRIT Ben Pauling Daryl Jacob
119 8. EBONYS ENCORE Jonjo O'Neill Aidan Coleman

Analyst's Verdict:
Voie Dans Voie sets a decent standard for the others to aim at, and he's selected to shed his maiden tag. Nicky Henderson's pair Malachite and Rebel Commander have both shown promise in bumpers and are worthy of respect now hurdling.
