Timeform pick out three bets from Vaal on Thursday.

Queen Anne - 13:30 Vaal

Queen Anne looks like a winner in waiting after finishing third in her last four races which followed a second back in June over this course and distance. The daughter of Fort Wood seems to save her best efforts for this track having been beaten a neck in June and less than a length in August, and although there are positive late vibes for newcomer Yes We Do, experience can be invaluable in these races and that may be what sees Queen Anne come home in front.

Soldat - 14:05 Vaal

Soldat has been getting better race on race and looks the value call here at what seems a fairly generous price. Brian Wild's son of Sarge has now placed in nine of his sixteen starts including last time out when he finished a quarter length runner up to Loyal Lieutenant over the mile at Turffontein last month, with the first two clear of the rest of the field. The drop back to seven furlongs now is not seen as an issue, and if he can improve again as expected, Soldat looks the likeliest winner here.

Mooney - 16:25 Vaal

Mooney doesn't have the easiest of tasks in this nine-furlong maiden with some fairly impressive rivals, but his third to King's County when running on over the mile at Turffontein looks as good as anything else on offer and with the added furlong a bonus, this could be his best chance yet. Trainer Alec Laird is known for his patience and will have the son of Captain Al progressing race on race, and any further improvement will see Mooney come home in front this afternoon.
