Timeform pick out three bets from Vaal on Thursday...
"...and given his latest win was a career best, he still seems to be improving..."
Timeform on Seven Lives
Barahain shaped with plenty encouragement on his debut over this trip at Turffontein last month and is expected to prove hard to beat with improvement forthcoming for top connections. White Book continues to improve with racing and is feared most, ahead of Pieces of Gold.
This doesn't look the strongest race of its type, and Count Kournikova is very much the one to be with. She wasn't disgraced on her first start for 100 days when fifth at Turffontein last time and, likely to strip fitter for that, she is expected to open her account. Jailhouse Jazz should be thereabouts, while Big Myth makes some appeal on paper and needs monitoring in the market.
Seven Lives has made a good start to his career, winning three of his five starts to date, and given his latest win was a career best, he still seems to be improving. This will be his toughest assignment to date, but it well worth chancing to continue the good work. Barrack Street has to be feared, though, while Greasepaint can't be ruled out of it either.
South Africa SmartPlays are £267.50 since 1st January
