Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when Ibn Malik won the Free Handicap. Nick hopes to end his current stint in the tipping chair with a couple of winners from HQ...
"I think this talented sprinter is in for a big season, and should take this on his way to better things"
15:20 Newmarket - Landofhopeandglory
Landofhopeandglory should take all the beating in this valuable sales race.
This High Chaparral colt finished second to Moonlight Magic in a Listed race at Leopardstown last October. He attempted to make all, but was collared deep inside the final furlong. He had previously finished second in the Zetland Stakes over this course.
He has an abundance of stamina, and will probably try to make all the running. His current price of 2.56/4 is more than fair.
Brave Hero won a Lingfield maiden in good style on the Poly last year. He looks a progressive sort, but this is a big step up in class. He looks short enough at 4.47/2.
15:55 Newmarket - Magical Memory
Magical Memory should run well in this fascinating sprint.
This gelding put in a much improved effort last time out when finishing third to Twilight Son in the Group 1 Betfred Sprint last September. He delivered a strong challenge a furlong from home, and was only just denied.
I think this talented sprinter is in for a big season, and should take this on his way to better things. He is trading at 4.216/5 and I have backed him at this price.
Mattmu could be the danger to the selection. He ran a blinder when finishing third in the Nunthorpe last August, and is another who looks set to have a good year.
Baccarat won a handicap at Maydan in February and merits consideration.
