Timeform pick out their three best bets from Leopardstown on Thursday evening...
"The extra two furlongs here are unlikely to inconvenience him on that evidence..."
Timeform on Waterboy
Scriobh Nua is bred to be smart and showed plenty of ability straight away when third on her debut at Naas last month, faring best of the newcomers and leaving the impression she would come on for the experience. Set an unreasonable task in the Irish 1000 Guineas seven days later, her involvement there could at least hasten her progress and, well clear on ratings, Jim Bolger's charge looks well up to winning a race of this nature. Quinns Red Rose and Tough Spirit head the list of dangers.
Rapture's Delight didn't need to improve to shed his maiden tag at Gowran Park two weeks ago, switched over a furlong out and staying on strongly to get on top close home. He starts out in handicaps from what looks a fair mark (4 lb clear on weight-adjusted ratings) and should take all the beating under Donnacha O'Brien, with the return to this longer trip expected to see him in an even better light. Fellow last-time-out winners Dream of Words and Bucky Larson are feared most.
Waterboy showed improved form, despite still looking rough around the edges, to get off the mark on his most recent outing over a mile here, doing well to pull a little way clear late on in a messy race. The extra two furlongs here are unlikely to inconvenience him on that evidence, and Richard Brabazon's charge looks sure to take all the beating, still relatively unexposed compared to most in this line up. Claregate Street arrives in excellent form and can give the selection most to do.
