Timeform pick out three bets from Vaal on Thursday.

Huyssteen - Vaal 12:45

Huyssteen is trained by the ever popular "Lucky" Houdalakis and had obviously been showing plenty on the gallops before being sent off the 12/10 favourite on his debut at Turffontein and finishing a rock solid third, less than half a length off winner Miyoshi and runner up Go Green. Like most of the stable's horses, the son of Hard Spun seems sure to improve considerably for that experience and will lap up the added furlong he faces here as well. Add Gavin Lerena in the saddle and Huyssteen looks the one to beat this afternoon and seems sure to be well backed to win today.

Witch of The West - Vaal 13:20

Witch of The West is also in the care of "Lucky" Houdalakis and is another maiden who put up an outstanding effort first time out and can only improve for the run. Easy to back on her Turffontein debut last month, the daughter of Gimmethegreenlight was sent off a 10/1 shot over the six furlongs before running on late to be beaten two and a half lengths by Distant Call, when dead heating for second with Colombina, and with the fourth winning next time out, the form has a solid look to it. Standard improvement looks all that will be needed by Witch of The West to come home in front under top jockey Anthony Delpech.

Prosperity - Vaal 13:55

Prosperity arrives here in great form after winning her maiden at Turffontein on the Inner course from The Tin Man and following up next time out at the same venue Standside at the rewarding odds of 16/1 on her handicap debut. Put up three pounds for that length success she ran well in defeat last month when less than two and a half lengths adrift of Goodness Me in second spot after a troubled passage and although up another pound now, Prosperity looks as if she is still improving and could well win her third race here for trainer Grant Maroun and jockey Ryan Munger.
