13:50 - BEQUIA (2) shaped well when second on her racecourse bow at Newmarket in August, staying on strongly under minimal pressure in the closing stages and giving the impression she would improve with that initial outing under her belt. That form gives those with previous experience 5 lb to find on Timeform ratings and, although there are some interesting newcomers in opposition, Bequia is expected to open her account at the second time of asking and can continue trainer Martyn Meade's fine form of late (two winners from last six runners).

14:20 - JET SETTER (8) fared better than the bare result when fourth on his most recent outing at Nottingham, still having plenty to do as the field entered the closing stages and needing to switch a few times on his way through. He ultimately did extremely well to close to within two and a quarter lengths of the winner and - likely to improve with that first outing for four months under his belt - Jet Setter is fancied to take advantage of what looks a lenient mark for his handicap debut and has to enter calculations in this second leg of the Placepot.

14:50 - NESHMEYA (11) made plenty of appeal on pedigree and produced a fairly useful effort when second on her racecourse debut at Newmarket last month. She ultimately found her owner's apparent second string too good on the day, but certainly showed enough to suggest she is up to winning a race of this nature and can confirm the promise of that initial outing with a defeat of Counterweight here.

15:20 - GUANABARA BAY (3) wasn't seen to best effect when second on his most recent outing at Wolverhampton, forced to deliver his challenge from further back than ideal after a sluggish exit from the stalls and doing well to finish as close as he did in the circumstances. That form leaves him 2 lb clear of his nearest rival on Timeform ratings here and - open to more improvement at this trip - Guanabara Bay should be thereabouts as he attempts to belatedly shed his maiden tag and makes plenty of appeal with the Placepot in mind. That comment also applies to REFUSE COLETTE (4), who takes a significant drop in grade here and should be sharper for her latest outing at Leicester.

15:50 - TAILWIND (11) shaped encouragingly when second on his racecourse debut at Wolverhampton last November and showed the benefit of that initial outing with a determined success at Kempton the following month. The fact he hasn't been sighted on a racecourse since suggests he hasn't been the most straightforward to train, but Tailwind remains open to more improvement after just two starts in his short career to date and looks overpriced in this penultimate leg of the Placepot. He is joined by VIMY RIDGE (14), who has been threatening to come good soon and should be thereabouts if a change of headgear has the desired effect (cheekpieces replaced by a visor).

16:20 - WHIPPHOUND (6) looked unlucky when second on his most recent outing at Catterick, enduring trouble in-running as the field entered the final furlong and finishing well enough once in the clear to suggest he probably would have won with a better passage through the race. He should prove extremely difficult if reproducing that level of form here and can make amends by landing this final leg of the Placepot, with Keene's Pointe feared most of the remainder for the in-form Kristin Stubbs yard.

16:50 - ZIPPY (6) was disappointing when last of 11 on his penultimate outing at Kempton, but bounced back when finishing two and a quarter lengths fourth at Brighton two weeks ago and remains more unexposed than most in opposition here.

17:20 - MUSAANADA (1) did well to get off the mark at the first time of asking at Kempton last month and gets the vote in the final race on this afternoon's Yarmouth card with above-average improvement on the cards.
