18:00 - BRACKEN BRAE (2) resumed winning ways with a determined victory over this C&D three weeks ago, produced to lead as the field entered the final two furlongs and always doing enough to hold off the chasing pack thereafter. That form leaves her 3 lb clear of the field on Timeform ratings and, with Simon Walker a positive jockey booking, Bracken Brae is fancied to see off the attentions of Bostonian and can follow up in this opening leg of the Placepot.

18:30 - PADLEYOUROWNCANOE (3) failed to meet market expectations when only fourth on his most recent outing at Southwell, but appeared unsuited by the longer trip that day and is better-judged on the form of his earlier victory at the same venue. That represented by far the best effort of his short career to date and, with the possibility of more to come in first-time blinkers, Padleyourowncanoe is taken to bounce back and can continue the fine form of trainer Daniel Loughnane (two winners from last five runners).

19:05 - CANNY STYLE (6) completed the hat-trick with a narrow victory at Musselburgh in October and again ran well when third on her return from six months off the track at Redcar last time. She shaped better than the bare result would suggest that day, forced to deliver her challenge from further back than ideal in a steadily-run race and ultimately doing extremely well to be beaten just a length and a quarter. She should prove difficult to beat if building on the promise of that effort here and looks worth a small bet.

19:40 - PONDERING (4) shaped with promise when fifth on her racecourse debut at Newbury in October, slowly into her stride and recovering well in the circumstances to be beaten just two and a half lengths. She is entitled to improve with that initial experience under her belt and, although the similarly unexposed Stepney is an obvious danger, Pondering is expected to take the bigger step forward and can open her account at the second attempt in this fourth leg of the Placepot.

20:10 - PRINCE OF TIME (4) was a dominant winner of his penultimate outing at Southwell and produced an even better effort effort in defeat when a close second over the same C&D last time. That form gives him the edge over Sheer Intensity on Timeform ratings and, while his wide draw could make life difficult here, Prince of Time remains one to keep onside on his current mood and can get the better of Major Muscari to record the second victory of his career.

20:40 - SLINGSBY (5) proved better than ever when successful on his penultimate outing at Newcastle in February and wasn't disgraced when fifth from 3lb higher in the weights back over the same C&D last time. Trainer Mick Easterby could hardly be in better form at present (seven winners from his last 27 runners) and, while Tavener is an obvious danger under a penalty for his recent Lingfield success, Slingsby looks overpriced by comparison and is fancied to regain the winning thread in this concluding leg of the Placepot.

21:10 - GNAAD (1) was gelded last month and looked all the better for it when beating Maggi May in decisive fashion at Southwell recently. He looks sure to make a bold bid under a penalty and shades vote from Coping Stone.
