"Far too keen in the early stages when behind Bloody Mary on that recent outing, the application of a hood should make him easier to settle here..."

14:10 - Rock On Oscar got off the mark under rules with an impressive win at Doncaster on his most recent start. A reproduction of that effort would be more than good enough here and he should win, with Fortunate George by far the most likely to fill the forecast spot.

14:40 - The form of Banyu's recent second over this C&D was given a boost by the winner's subsequent effort at Cheltenham and he did well to finish as close as he did in the circumstances. Far too keen in the early stages when behind Bloody Mary on that recent outing, the application of a hood should make him easier to settle here and he looks to have been found a good opportunity to get another win on the board. He is a confident selection for the Placepot, with Brotherly Company fancied to get the better of the disappointing All Set To Go in the battle for second.

15:10 - Edeiff's Lad and Passing Fiesta were first and second over this C&D a week ago and they would appear to be the pair to concentrate on again here. Passing Fiesta remains 3 lb below her last winning mark and after three previously disappointing runs this season, last week's second signalled a return to form for this mare. Edieff's Lad is saddled with a 7 lb penalty for last week's win and Passing Fiesta is fancied to reverse the placings on these revised terms. Sylvan Legend is beginning to look well-handicapped and can also make the frame if first-time blinkers have a positive effect.

15:40 - General Ginger returns from over four months off the track here, with connections seemingly keen to protect him from the testing conditions that have prevailed for most of the winter. His second behind Modus at this track when last seen is good form in the context of this race and, although his fitness has to be taken on trust after such a long layoff, a reproduction of that effort would give him every chance on his handicap debut. Retro Valley could also be capable of better now handicapping and is chosen ahead of Vicenzo Mio as a second selection for the Placepot.

16:10 - Bilbrook Blaze had some fair form to his name over hurdles and is worth another chance after two bitterly disappointing efforts over fences. A faller at the first on his chasing debut at Sandown, he was possibly feeling the effects of that tumble when weakening rapidly just 13 days later at Exeter. He has been given a break since that run and would look to hold decent claims if finally putting it all together over the larger obstacles. Kerryhead Storm rates the most solid proposition after his Leicester win and is also worth including for Placepot purposes, while Rothman is capable of getting involved if near his peak after a spell on the sidelines.

16:40 - Ian Williams has been in fine form recently, Ballyalton providing the yard with a first Cheltenham Festival winner last week, and his Leath Acra Mor is fancied to continue the yard's good run of form. He has been given a break since his second at Huntingdon on Boxing Day and looks sure to relish the return to a sounder surface here. Present Man was sixth in a better race at Wincanton in January and should provide the biggest threat on this drop in class.
