14:10 - BO SELECTA (1) shaped encouragingly in third on his fibresand debut in a maiden last time, giving the impression that a step up in trip would be ideal for him (finished well over five furlongs). A mark of 62 doesn't look overly harsh, and he won't have to show much improvement on his handicap debut to get off the mark here.
14:40 - This looks a lot weaker than the maiden in which NATIVE PROSPECT (4) finished second in at York in October and, having progressed with nearly every one of his starts to date, he is an interesting contender here provided he takes to the surface. Elegantly Bound is the obvious danger after he finished second again here last time, though he will ideally be suited by shorter than this (not short of speed for all that he has form over a mile).
15:10 - A big field, but in truth it is hard to find a better Placepot candidate in the field than CUSTARD THE DRAGON (4) who took his record to three wins from three starts on fibresand last time over C&D, and should still be very competitive after a 4 lb rise in the weights.
15:40 - ESCALATING (6) is back down to his last winning mark and ran well on his fibresand debut over C&D in November. He has been given a break since (also gelded) and has a good 5 lb claimer in the saddle, so looks an interesting runner for Mick Appleby.
16:10 - This looks a good bit of placement by connections of BOUNTY PURSUIT (1), who sneaks in to the top of this 0-60 race under a 6 lb penalty for his win at Wolverhampton in a 0-66 eight days ago. It is still early days for his new yard, and he could have more to offer yet, especially on this surface, given his pedigree.
16:40 - MY RENAISSANCE (3) represents a yard in good form and has taken really well to this surface, winning his last two starts over C&D. He should give a good account again. If there is one to get involved at a bigger price, it could be HORSEGUARDSPARADE (1), who won his maiden here and ran a good second (on an un-favoured part of the track) in March.
