Timeform take you through the card at Newbury on Saturday.
12:20 - DUSKY LEGEND (1) proved at least as good as ever when making a successful return from six months off the track over this C&D last time, travelling strongly into contention as the field jumped the final flight and quickly asserting thereafter. La Bague Au Roi looks an obvious danger in receipt of 3 lb here, but the form of her two victories at Uttoxeter and Wetherby doesn't appear to be the strongest and the battle-hardened Dusky Legend rates a far more solid proposition in this opening leg of the Placepot.
12:55 - THISTLECRACK (2) established himself as the leading staying hurdler in training last season, running out a seven-length winner of the World Hurdle at this venue and showing a prodigious level of ability in doing so. He has looked a natural in his two victories over the larger obstacles at Chepstow and Cheltenham to date and - 9 lb clear of his nearest rival on ratings here - Thistlecrack is simply impossible to oppose and can take another step on the road to a Gold Cup bid in March.
13:30 - MYSTIFIABLE (9) shaped better than the bare result would suggest on his most recent outing at Aintree in April, still travelling well as the field turned into the straight and simply finding the emphasis on stamina too much on his first start over a trip in excess of three miles. He had looked a useful prospect when running out a seven-length winner of his penultimate outing over this C&D and, with the possibility of more to come after just four starts over fences, Mystifiable is fancied to see off the attentions of the thriving Antony and makes most appeal in this third leg of the Placepot.
14:05 - BORN SURVIVOR (2) was strong in the betting and duly built on the promise of an encouraging first season over hurdles when second on his return to action at Aintree last month. That form gives him the edge over long-term absentee Battle Born on Timeform ratings here and he looks sure to be thereabouts if making the expected progress with that outing under his belt. He is joined in the Placepot by ROBINSHILL (9), who has shown a good attitude when successful the last twice and doesn't look too harshly treated from a mark 5 lb higher than when winning at Huntingdon 18 days ago.
14:40 - WHO DARES WINS (1) shaped well when fourth of 14 on his handicap debut at Chepstow seven weeks ago, still having plenty to do as the field turned into the straight and ultimately doing extremely well to get within a length and three-quarters of the smart winner. He got no further than the second on his most recent outing at Cheltenham (blundered and unseated his rider), but had displayed a slick jumping technique on the whole previously and can make amends here. THELIGNY (7) doesn't have much to find on ratings and is also included in the Placepot at a fair price.
15:10 - HENRI PARRY MORGAN (9) was progressive in 2015/16 and was still travelling as well as anything when unseating his rider six-out in the Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown in April. His exit came too early to say with any confidence where he would have finished, but he certainly showed enough to suggest he will be competitive in all the top staying handicap chases this season and should go well with more improvement on the cards. He is joined in the Placepot by THEATRE GUIDE (13), who has been placed in the last two renewals of this race and looks overpriced once again here.
15:45 - GREY GOLD (1) is only 2 lb higher than when winning this race 12 months ago and appears to hold sound claims if returning in the same form here, with Imjoeking feared most of the remainder.
