Timeform take you through the card at Newbury on Saturday.
12:10 - SAINT CONTEST (10) shaped well when third on his hurdling debut at Wincanton last month, travelling smoothly through the first half of the contest and giving the impression he would come on for the run when weakening close home. He should be thereabouts if making the expected progress here and makes most appeal with the Placepot in mind.
12:40 - LESSONS IN MILAN (6) looked far more straightforward than has often been the case when third on his most recent outing here and could yet be capable of better after just four starts over the larger obstacles. He is joined in the Placepot by POTTERS LEGEND (1), who is yet to finish out of the first three in any of his career starts to date and was better than ever when second in a Grade 2 at Doncaster three weeks ago.
13:15 - YANMARE (12) improved further to complete the hat-trick at Towcester last time, coming from last to first and pulling five lengths clear in the manner of a thorough stayer close home. That form gives him the edge over all bar Blameitalonmyroots on ratings and, with the possibility of more to come after just six starts over fences, Yanmare is fancied to defy a 8 lb hike in the weights and has to enter calculations in this third leg of the Placepot.
13:50 - MESSIRE DES OBEAUX (6) looked a useful prospect when making a successful return to action at Bangor last month and duly confirmed the promise of that effort with a determined success on his most recent outing in a Grade 2 at Sandown. He showed a good attitude to pull victory out of the fire on that occasion and his experience could just give him the edge over Robin Roe in this fourth leg of the Placepot.
14:25 - CEPAGE (3) created a deep impression when making a successful debut for the Venetia Williams yard over this C&D two weeks ago and still looks potentially very well-treated from 13 lb higher in the weights here. Indeed, there could be even more to come with that initial outing on these shores under his belt and Cepage is fancied to take this step up in class in his stride, with the smart Knockgraffon feared most of the remainder.
15:00 - KINGS BANDIT (5) was still travelling well when hampered and falling on his most recent outing at Navan. He is likely to have played a hand in the finish but for his unfortunate exit that day and - open to more improvement on just his third start for the Gordon Elliot yard - Kings Bandit looks an interesting Irish raider and can make amends in this final leg of the Placepot. JOHN CONSTABLE (6) shaped well when sixth at Cheltenham last time and is also considered for Placepot purposes.
15:35 - WILLIAM HENRY (7) was smart in bumpers and should prove extremely difficult to beat if reproducing the form he showed when second on his hurdling debut at Cheltenham three weeks ago.
