13:50 - TANGLEY (8) was a winner of her sole outing between the flags in May and shaped as if needing the run when down the field on her Rules debut at Ffos Las in November. She is entitled to improve with that initial outing under her belt and, with trainer Harry Fry in such fine form at present (four winners from last 12 runners), Tangley shades the vote from last month's Hereford-fourth Jubilympics and can open her account in this sphere at the second time of asking.
14:25 - DARWINS THEORY (4) looked rusty when a well-beaten third on his seasonal debut at this venue and duly showed the benefit of that outing with an improved effort to finish second back over this C&D last time. That represents by far the best recent form on offer here and, while Rocky Elson is potentially very well-treated on his return from 21 months off the track, Darwins Theory looks sure to be thereabouts and rates by far the most solid proposition with the Placepot in mind.
15:00 - BURGESS DREAM (9) produced his best effort for some time to belatedly get off the mark over C&D three weeks ago, travelling strongly into contention after four-out and quickening clear in the closing stages for a six-length success. He returns to fences from just 1 lb higher in the weights here and should prove extremely difficult to beat if arriving in the same mood. He is joined in the Placepot by MATROW'S LADY (5), who acquitted herself well in a higher grade for the most part last season and looks fairly treated if fit after 10 months off the track.
15:30 - QUEEN ODESSA (5) showed a useful level of form when winning a Doncaster bumper 12 months ago, travelling strongly on the front end throughout and finding plenty in the closing stages to hold the sustained challenge of Kayf Grace. That rival boosted the form when winning a Grade at Aintree in April and, with her seasonal debut at Cheltenham best forgotten, Queen Odessa is fancied to see off the attentions of the more-experienced Tearsofclewbay and can open her account over hurdles at the first attempt.
16:00 - DOITFORTHEVILLAGE (2) was disappointing when only fifth on his most recent outing at Ludlow, but that was a far stronger race than this and he is better-judged on the form of his earlier victory over this C&D. He showed enough that day to suggest he can be competitive from just 5 lb higher in the weights here and makes most appeal in this penultimate leg of the Placepot, with Tara Bridge feared most if reproducing the best of his form over hurdles.
16:30 - UP FOUR IT (11) showed improved form to shed his maiden tag over the C&D three weeks ago, dictating matters on the front end and finding plenty to hold the sustained challenge of the runner-up. That form gives him the edge over Sea The Springs on Timeform ratings here and, with the possibility of more to come on debut for a new yard, Up Four It would appear to hold sound claims from just 5 lb higher in the weights and can follow up in this final leg of the Placepot.
