17:05 - RATTLE ON (4) shaped well when fourth on his most recent outing at Kempton, still holding every chance as the field entered the straight and only weakening once the lack of a recent run began to tell in the closing stages. He should strip fitter with that first outing for five months under his belt and is fancied to shed his maiden tag in this opening leg of the Placepot, with Zabdi an obvious danger if arriving in the same form as when successful at Kempton in February.

17:35 - BOB HOPEFUL (2) showed improved form when fourth on his handicap debut at Kempton 12 days ago, racing keenly through the first half of the contest and keeping on well in the circumstances to be beaten just three and a half lengths. That form gives him the edge over Arcanista on Timeform ratings here and, while the drop back to six furlongs isn't sure to suit on breeding, Bob Hopeful rates by far the most solid proposition with the Placepot in mind and can open his account in what doesn't look the strongest race of its kind.

18:05 - DUSTY BLUE (4) was a determined winner of his penultimate outing at Southwell and ran at least as well in defeat when third on his debut for the David Loughnane yard over the same C&D last time. He kept on well in the closing stages to get within two lengths of the winner that day and that rival boosted the form when successful from 4 lb higher in the weights since (fourth and eighth also won their next starts). Dusty Blue could have more to offer on just his second start for Loughnane and looks the one to beat here, with Mossgo feared most of the remainder.

18:35 - SHARGIAH (3) proved better than ever when getting off the mark on his most recent outing at Ripon and that form could hardly have worked out better, with the third and fourth both multiple winners since. Shargiah has a 10 month absence from the track to contend with here, but looks potentially very well-treated from a BHA mark of 81 on his handicap debut and is taken to continue the fine form of trainer Roger Varian (seven winners from his last 21 runners). The Warrior takes a significant drop in grade and can give the selection most to do.

19:05 - CURTSY (3) showed little in three starts as a two-year-old, but she is bred in the purple (by Galileo and out of a Group 3 winner) and looks the type to improve considerably now stepping up to middle distances. She makes her handicap debut from what looks a fair mark and, while her stablemate Nobleman is an obvious danger, Curtsy looks overpriced by comparison and is fancied to make her presence felt in this penultimate leg of the Placepot.

19:35 - STAR OF LOMBARDY (3) is thriving at present and was only narrowly denied when trying to complete the hat-trick at Bath on Friday. The quick turnaround is an obvious concern here, but she should prove difficult to peg back if given an easy time of things on the front end and is fancied to resume winning ways under Joe Fanning. Inke was below form when down the field after four months off the track at Chelmsford last time, but should strip fitter here and looks the main danger from a mark just 1 lb higher than when winning on turf here last June.

Recommendation:

Win back DUSTY BLUE in the 18:05 at Lingfield

Placepot permutation:

17:05 - 4
17:35 - 2
18:05 - 4
18:35 - 3
19:05 - 3
19:35 - 3
