"...with a 3 lb rise in the weights offset by the 5 lb claim of Saturday's Ebor-winning jockey Adam McNamara, Rosebride looks overpriced in this third leg of the Placepot...

14:10 - CLAIRE'S SECRET (9) looked in need of the experience when down the field on her racecourse debut at Newmarket earlier this month, but kept on under an educational ride to get within six lengths of the winner and gave the impression she would come on plenty with that initial outing under her belt. That form already gives her just 1 lb to find with Sidewinder on Timeform ratings and Claire's Secret can make the necessary progress to open her account at the second time of asking here.

14:40 - HARWOODS VOLANTE (3) shaped better than the bare result when fourth on his most recent outing at Redcar and, having dropped to a mark 2 lb lower than when last successful at Wetherby in June 2015, he is fancied to build on the promise of last time and looks sure to be thereabouts. He is joined in the Placepot by AQUA GARDENS (4), who ran his best race for some time with the cheekpieces back on at Goodwood last month and is another to have won from higher marks than this in the past.

15:10 - ROSEBRIDE (6) returned to form with a fair effort at Chester last time, travelling as well as anything on her first try over six furlongs and simply finding the pillar-to-post winner too strong in the final furlong. The form of that contest is beginning to work out well (fourth and eighth have both won since) and, with a 3 lb rise in the weights offset by the 5 lb claim of Saturday's Ebor-winning jockey Adam McNamara, Rosebride looks overpriced in this third leg of the Placepot.

15:40 - MAMOO (6) is unexposed over this trip which he is bred to relish (half-brother to Censorius, who stays two miles) and produced his best effort to date when finishing second at Newmarket last time. He was not ideally placed that day, either, held up in rear in a race where the winner made all, and he could be dangerous from the same mark. SAINT THOMAS (4) may be a nine-year-old, but he has been in good heart this year - winning over C&D last month - and is also considered with the Placepot in mind.

16:10 - George Baker is in good form at present, including with his nursery runners (saddled a winner in a nursery earlier this week), and his JASMINCITA (5) could be worth chancing on her handicap debut here. She is bred to be precocious, and could have been handed a workable opening mark here based on her fourth on her second start at Haydock in June where she finished behind three subsequent winners, including Group 3 winners Fair Eva and Nations Alexander, and listed winner Miss Infinity.

16:45 - ETIENNE GERARD (5) continued his fine form of late with a creditable second at Beverley two weeks ago, making good headway in the final furlong and shaping as if he would be suited by the return to the six furlongs over which he was successful at Windsor last month. Indeed, most of his best efforts have come at this trip - including a victory over this C&D last August - and Etienne Gerard is fancied to go in again for his in-form yard (four winners from last 12 runners).
