"He looks sure to relish this step up in trip and this Derby entry can open his account at the second time of asking..."

17:55 - Blistering Dancer has been knocking on the door since joining the Tony Carroll yard and was only collared in the dying strides by Stamp of Approval at Wolverhampton last month. A 2 lb pull at the weights should be enough to see him reverse the placings this time and a low draw also looks sure to suit his attacking style of racing. His consistent performances of late makes him a sound selection with the Placepot in mind and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him register a first win since July 2014 here. He is joined in the Placepot by recent Wolverhampton scorer Ballrooom Angel, who returned from seven months off the track to win that day and is entitled to improve for the outing.

18:25 - Lucy The Painter was third in a stronger race than this at Windsor in October and will prove a tough nut to crack if ready to roll following a 162 day break. She can make her debut for a new yard off a 5 lb lower mark here and, although she was disappointing on her only previous start at this trip, she has given the impression that it would be within her range on other occasions. She is marginally preferred to Rialto Magic in the Placepot, with the latter sure to be popular after gaining her reward for some consistent efforts when winning at Chelmsford last time.

18:55 - Biodynamic is a confident selection for the Placepot after a promising debut effort at Nottingham in November. He was well-backed on that occasion and, while never looking likely to justify that market confidence in the race, he did keep on quite nicely in the closing stages to take fifth. He looks sure to relish this step up in trip and this Derby entry can open his account at the second time of asking. Angelical Dancer was disappointing last time, but would rate the main danger if reproducing the form of last month's second at this track.

19:25 - Big Shoes was a shade disappointing at Southwell last time but looked fairly promising when making a winning handicap debut at Wolverhampton on his reappearance. Slowly into stride on that occasion, he quickly recovered to hold a prominent position and always looked the likeliest winner when asked to deliver his challenge in the closing stages. He can be forgiven that poor effort on the fibresand last time, as he wouldn't be the first horse to struggle on that surface, and he is fancied to regain the winning thread here. Daydream is also one to keep onside for Placepot purposes, with this sharper track likely to be more in his favour than when run down late at Chelmsford and Wolverhampton recently.

19:55 - Isis Blue was starting to get competitive when stumbling and unseating his rider around two furlongs from home over this C&D last month and he is fancied to gain compensation. He had previously formed a good relationship with 5 lb claimer Alice Mills and the 6-y-o can race off a mark just 4 lb higher than when the partnership struck at this venue in January. There could yet be more to come and he is chosen for the Placepot here, ahead of Bank of Gibraltar, who shed his maiden tag in good style at Wolverhampton on his most recent start and appeals as the most likely to fill the forecast spot.

20:25 - It's hard to get away from Torreon, who remains capable of better after just four career starts to date and went down with all guns blazing when runner-up over seven furlongs on his handicap debut here recently. A winner over this trip when getting off the mark on his penultimate start, he is able to race off the same mark as when narrowly beaten here a week ago and a strong gallop here can bring his proven stamina into play. Torreon looks to hold outstanding claims of making amends here and is therefore a standout selection for the Placepot. Burning Blaze is feared most after winning for the first time in over three years when Silvestre de Sousa took over the reins last time.
